The Art of the Desert

A Monet stye of photography

The Oxbows of Osoyoos, BC
Fire in the desert

Osoyoos in bloom

This is one of my favorite places to photograph. I can understand why Claude Monet found inspiration in his own gardens. For me the meadows and ponds offer the same muted impressionistic way. The magical mix of colours and textures and blending is thoughtful and creative.

Capturing what I See

I discovered the beauty of the desert and oxbows a few years ago. It is a place of serenity, a chance to discover the unique vegetation, where the land and water is used by waterfowl, hawks, ospreys, eagles and roaming coyotes. Where I can hear the songbirds rustling in the furrow of tangled branches and tall grasses. Where desert flowers and cactuses bloom. Where the wind blows gently through the mix of wild desert grasses. I feel like a child finding a new adventure and wanting to share it with all her friends.
